04.16.08 Columbia Township Cemetery | Columbia Station, OH

To this point, Columbia Township Cemetery has been the most amazing cemetery that I have been to. I found it while playing basketball at the park at Columbia Station. The cemetery sits directly across the street from it and from what I saw, I knew it would be something special.

The cemetery was established in 1811, just five years after the Bronson and Hoadley families purchased the land in 1807. The pioneers of this very township, along with veterans of the Mexican Revolutionary war are buried here.

The cemetery was in outstanding condition for it's age. It was amazing to read the gravestones and see that many of these people were alive in the 1700's.

Sally Bronson Adams, Columbia's first settler, school teacher, and the town was named after her hometown of Columbia, Connecticut.
