09.02.07 LeLand Hotel | Aurora, IL

People would jump off the top to the river below.

The LeLand Hotel is the tallest building in Aurora, IL, built in 1921. It is rumored to be haunted as many suicide deaths have been reported where people would from the top of the 22 story building down into the Fox River below. Allegedly, at night bad smells come from the elevator banks and the elevators seem to moan.

The building was used as a famous recording studio for blues artists and a first class hotel. It is now being used as an apartment building.
