07.30.08 Mike Tyson Mansion | Southington, OH

A friend from work (thanks Mike!) gave me a heads up about this place after he and some friends experienced it first hand. After he showed me some pictures he took with his cell phone, I immediately made plans to check it out myself.
Me and Brandon made the trip to Southington, Ohio to see the Mike Tyson abandoned mansion. It was a little different from some of the abandoned stuff that we had both shot before, but it still provided us with a unique photo opportunity that was too hard to pass up.
Mike Tyson moved from the home to Las Vegas in 1999. Paul Monea, a businessman, who was the mastermind behind the Billy Blanks TaeBo workout tapes, purchased the property for 1.3 million dollars. From what I gather, he never actually lived there. The house was actually on sale at Ebay in 2005, but it never sold.
Sometime in 2006, Paul tried to sell a large diamond (40 carot) and the property to an undercover FBI agent who stated that the money that he was going to use was drug money. According to reports, Paul said that he did not care, and thus got busted and sent to jail. The property and the diamond were then is possession of the authorities.
From what I gather, there was a lot more to it, but I tried to keep it short and sweet for you. The house has pretty much been abandoned since 1999. Enjoy the photos.

Tyson had pet tigers in these cages...

Tyson probably enjoyed many sunsets like these...
