07.06.08 False Claims & Extortion: Ripoff Report

There is this website that people can go to, called Ripoff Report (I will not link to them to help their traffic rankings) where, anyone can say anything, even anonymously, to warn others about companies that rip off or scam consumers.

Now that sounds great from the outside, but if you look a little deeper, you can discover that the site does far more negative than positive.

I will say that there are a great number of reports made on the site that DO help people, but it does not make up for dirty, scummy, wrong method of business that the site handles false claims.

First of all, as stated above, anyone can submit any claim about any business, even anonymously, no matter if there is any truth or evidence to back it up. Ripoff Report will NOT remove the report, not unless you pay them a heavy down payment and monthly payments for life.

That's extortion.

Ripoff Report is not responsible for what people say on their site. However, when someone files a false report against you or your business, that Ripoff Report actually uses keywords with any personal information that the reporter uses; the name of you and your business, your website URL, etc. So, anyone then uses a search engine, such as Google, and happens to type in any of your information, that the false report will get a VERY high ranking, and thus, potentially greatly hurting you and your business.

So for anyone the site helps out, they are wrongfully hurting another and cashing in on it.

You are free to file a rebuttal to the claim, which if approved (keep in mind that initial reports are posted immediately), will appear as a title link at the bottom of the initial report, kind of like the fine print at the bottom of an infomercial. In most cases, the average internet user will not scroll down that far as the damage will already have been done. Ripoff Report says that your rebuttal will be posted by the next day, but in many cases that I discovered, they were never posted.

Many innocent honest people have been hurt by Ripoff Report, a site that claims to protect people. They are dirty and known as the "National Enquirer" of reporting sites. My advice to you is to not believe what you read on there.

Now what does this have to do with me? I am a fresh victim of a false report. I am doing my part to protect myself while warning others about the their dirty business.

Now because of legal matters, I can not talk about the report made against me. I have an overwhelming amount of evidence that is just for my attorney, private investigator, and myself to discuss. All I can say is that the report is 100% false.
